    Game changer: 5 Min Test?

Please make it so - way to go Abbott!
    1. Compared to what?
    2. At what cost?
    3. What hard evidence do you have?

That would be fantastic, timely testing is something we desperately need.

The news takes great joy in announcing how many new cases there are daily like Kung Flu is spreading so rapidly. They fail to mention that testing is increasing and what are reported as new cases are really more like newly discovered cases.

Their version supports panicking and follow us for the latest grim news. Just like they don't seem to be reporting on people recovering.

The MSM continues to be against the public all the while trying to sound sympathetic.

Great news, but ... My sixty four thousand dollar question is: How long before these can be deployed and effectively used?

          next week

          From the article:

This test for the novel coronavirus causing the current global pandemic has received emergency clearance for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and will begin production next week, with output of 50,000 per day possible starting next week.

350,000 tests next week! Later in the article the company says they believe they can muster 5 million tests in April !!

The tests are easy to produce but how many ID NOW machines are available? How much does the ID NOW machine cost?

Antibody tests kits are the better choice for high volume use as they don't require any special equipment and can differentiate prior infection from a current one. You can administer an antibody kit anywhere.

Can't tell if this is just supplies/kits for the machine or the machine itself, but looks like kits. $2500 for 24?

Here's the machine. Not sure how much it costs or how many are in the field, but the fact that they think they can do 3 million makes me think they are in pretty wide use.

Article from 2015 about this system. Sounds promising for wide distribution in the present.

Haven't found a price on the machine yet, but this piece from last year has some info that these may not really be in wide distribution due to cost.
