California once had mobile hospitals and a ventilator stockpile, but dismantled them.

The state's supply of mobile hospitals, ventilators and N95 respirators would have helped in the coronavirus outbreak, but the state got rid of them years ago.

In 2006, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger created an emergency health reserve, including mobile acute care hospitals, ventilators and N95 respirators. But state leaders refused to allocate funds to maintain them.

LA Times and Reveal News stated both collaborated on this investigative news article.

I heard about this on John and Ken earlier today but didn't hear the story. I got home before they talked about it, went to the computer to listen to it but iheart radio took 30 minutes to work. Not the only time iheart radio took 10, 15, 30 minutes to actually work. Now I know what they were talking about. Seems the Democrats DGAF about "people". Thanks for posting

What is important is that the state govt is woke and gave the money for higher priority things. You know illegal aliens, the homeless, etc.

California politicians and disaster experts are always preaching about being prepared because you never know when disasters hit.
Well it looks like California was not prepared. Not enough masks, ventilators.
Ducking politicians don’t practice what they preach.

Think of it this way. The DMV is the best run and most effective government agency in California.

              ...Now that is scary.

When this is over someone should do a study on the impact of the free healthcare for illegals and how much medical resources that consumed in a time of crisis.

I could see a situation where the media panic combined with the idea that it's 'free' would cause some people to rush to the hospital with mild symptoms and unnecessarily overloading the system.
