The thing about this that actually worries me, is that she is smart. She's REALLY smart, and a damn good doctor. That means she's careful, but she still got it. That's important data right there, and not from an article or news report.

I'm thinking now that maybe some extra hand sanitizer isn't going to do squat if you come into contact with an infected person, and just staying away from people really is the best option.

Like I said though, I'll find out what she has to say on Sunday, and find out how much exposure she had. (She's not in a huge hospital in the capital, but where they live there's a lot of immigrants.)

Yes, she's great to have dinner with, best service ever as every waiter in the restaurant fights over who waits on our table, it's funny to see, and makes Mrs. 2111 laugh.

This is the problem for people working as physicians and nurses. You can be ultra careful, but all it takes is one little slip when you are constantly exposed to sick people. Sometimes, it isn't even your slip, it's when a patient carelessly coughs right into your face, etc.

Even if you do everything you can to be careful and limit chances of exposure, if you get enough exposures eventually your luck runs out. This happens to me at least once and typically 3 or 4 times a year. Seeing a dozen people a day with something contagious will eventually mean that you're going to catch something.

I hope that she remains well.

I have a friend living in Finland. The cases of covid-19 have been steadily increasing there. Fortunately, my friend does not live in or close to Helsinki.
Finland has the lowest number of cases and deaths among the Scandinavian
countries.

My sister's SO in the UK is positive. The wife of my son's school chum is self-quarantined. He is here and she is also in the UK. The one is in Wales and the other is London.

The PPE shortage is global, and an N95 isn't the best thing. Here in So Cal, they're having to reuse them at the hospitals.
