American Airlines just went full 'in air' lockdown mode

If you are a AAdvantage elite member, you probably got this email today as well. How much you want to bet this will stick around far after the crisis is over. Bye bye free Bailey's minis.

Can I bring in an emotional support bat? He's from China.

Since I had virtually nothing going on this week, I actually did a mileage run a few days ago, LAX-MIA. The whole flight out was maybe at 20% capacity. I got bumped to First almost immediately after booking.

On the way to MIA, there were still a few open seats in First class, every other person in first were AA staff and pilots on a dead end trip back to MIA.

On the way back, first class was packed with elderly couples in their 60's and 70's. Talking to the guy next to me, all these people were on a cruise ship for a 22 day cruise. Their destination port in Peru got closed, they went through Panama only to learn that the Ports of San Diego and LA were closed to cruise ships, so they returned to Miami, a week past their intended return date. Many wanted to remain on the ship as it had been over 3 weeks with no one showing symptoms onboard. I really hope all the old timers on the flight with me were able to make it home and are safe, especially as they will have had no time to prep for the lockdown.

Just park the drink cart where you board and serve yourself. Or just stick snacks and drinks on each seat before people board
