Why does the US look like it has chicken pox, but no other country on the map does?

What's with all the little red dots everywhere when no other country on the map has that level of detail?

Bing's covid-19 tracker has far better granularity for locales, try it. They're even able to track Russian province reporting and individual islands in places like the Lesser Antilles.
