Napa valley fires

Folks in Calistoga are getting hit hard this evening. Anyone that was in evac zones yesterday is likely already well out, or staying.
I don't know of any Calistoga Calgunners, but I don't know everything either.
Hopefully this thing doesn't eat that little town tonight. :/ -
My brother got evac orders last night. There wasn't time to move anything out of it. He got the call while he was at his night job and he was stopped from going up the road to get anything from his house. His wife managed to get a car full of mementos and the pets. That's about it. He was operating a business out of his house- tens of K$$ machines in there. Thousand gallon propane tank about 20 ft from the house (which worries me more than anything). We heard from friends who have been up that road who have said everything in the area is a total loss. Satellite imagery (thermal data) seems to back that up.

Got 2 people out with stuff yesterday and 3 others lost every except their lives. People haven't been taking this seriously. No defensible space. Expect the 2 people i moved out yesterday to have every gone as well.Comment

Man, that sucks.
I have a friend in the city of Napa, which seems in the clear for now.
I think if I lived anywhere around a lot of trees, considering what's happened this year, I'd try to rent a storage unit in a place like Fairfield and move some stuff I'd really miss into it.Comment

I've got a friend in Calistoga, so I get a lot of contacts. Her son is a fire fighter up there.Comment
