    Kincade Fire, Sonoma County

A large majority of the county has or is in the process of evacuating. Around 50 homes lost so far, with very high winds predicted tonight.

It could get really bad. As bad as the Tubbs and Camp fire.

I hope it does not, and there's a chance that it doesn't, if wind speed and direction, and fire crews, all pull things off just right.

But if it does go bad, there are going to be a lot of people who need a lot of help. There's several long time and active Sonoma county Calgunners that are evacuated, me being one of them, directly in the expected path of the fire.

If it goes ugly, I'm not going to be able to do much on CG for a bit, but...if it goes ugly...could someone please start some movement towards helping folks here out?

Stay safe man, stay up tonight with everything ready in case you need to go.
    Leave early if possible.

I hope you have p100 respirators and air purifiers.

More wind forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday. Nuts.

              Stay safe, all.

I'm home, mostly intact. Still no power, currently running the truck with an inverter to keep freezers frozen. My place is still in mandatory evac zone, but...I have a secret sneaky way to get home I used. I could use a shower or two. Winds tonight are supposed to be pretty bad, but a lot of good work was done yesterday and today, and my confidence in them holding it from getting any deeper in to Windsor and Santa Rosa is fairly high.

Many much less fortunate than I.

Fire crews did pretty amazing work, and it appears that MOST of the threat to homes is gone.

Somewhere around a hundred still burned, though no known Calgunners are in those numbers.

Fire is still going, but from what I can find, not towards any population centers.

Friend of mine in zone 10 is hoping to go home tomorrow. He's retired first responder and is recovering from PTSD. Two years ago the fire came within two blocks of his home. This has been tough on him but he still considers himself fortunate compared to others. I sure hope this fire gets knocked down real soon.

I just received an email reply from member Dubious Beans. He was evacuated for days but is now back home and all is well.

Yea, Dubious and I live pretty near each other. Long drive, but short as a crow flies.

I finally got my power back on this evening.

sonofeugene, did your friend get back home? If not, I can help, PM me and I'll do what I can.

My friend is home now with his wife. All is well, though a trying experience for him, especially.

But not nearly as trying as the experiences of others. May those others find their lives whole again soon.
