Show Off Your Shotgun Build - Home Defense, Duty, Military....

Here is my baby. I built this for home defense and fun at range.

I did a build series on YouTube, Intro to 80 percent, only things not up yet as of 12/27/22014 are new saddle rail and red dot but will be up soon.

    Here is the link.

Here are all the upgrades I did and the order I did them in.

    1. Remington 870 7-shot Magazine Spring.

    2. S&J Hardware Magazine Follower.

    3. Wave Lock Washer (Makes it nearly impossible for cap to back off under recoil.)

    4. Archangel 7 Shot Shotshell Side Saddle. (Replaced with Picatinny Saddle Rail)

    5. Magpul MOE Forend.

    6. Inforce WMLx(Constant On/Off, Momentary On, Strobe, Selector Switch for Switch Mode for Constant On/Off and Momentary, Strobe Disable.)

    7. Carrier Latch Spring (Police/1100.)

    8. New Non-MIM Extraxtor 2014 (Off 2014 model Marine Magnum/Police, features a bevel like MIM and will not cut a channel in receiver like old style.)

    9. Blackhawk Specops Gen II NRS Stock.

    10. Mesa Tactical Saddle Rail/Side Saddle.

    11. Bushnell TRS-25 HiRise.

    Sweet Setup.
I have a 590A1 that I have yet to build up.
I have the Mesa AR Adapter. I like the MOE forend except for the lips it has on both ends.
I would prefer it more streamlined.
I'm thinking of getting a wood forend and then stripping it and staining it black.
I'll post pics if I ever get it done.

Thanks. MOE Forend, you either love it or hate it. Check out Cameron from TWANGnBANG on YouTube I really love his 590A1 build. He did a super high quality and informative build series.

I thought about using Mesa Tactical LEO stock adapter or thier flat AR adapter. Or possibly S&J Hardware's but I really like the Blackhawk stock.... I need to see how I like Urbino 2.0 if Magpul makes a shell carrier for SGA, that comes on my gun

Nice setup, how do you like the Bushnell? Have you had experience with other red dots?

congrats; great job putting it all together. looks very impressive and i can easily see pride of ownership. i pretty much go with the KISS principle and keep it simple and light.

I made the birdshead grip for my 12.5'' AOW, because I really like the look of wood on a shotgun. Not the best choice for home defense, but one of the best range toys I have

I have shot TRS-25 on AR's/AK's as well as my buddies Aimpoint H1. As far as pump shotguns the TRS-25 performed better than I expected.

The first time I shot it, I must have not tighten screws properly because after 150 rounds of birdshot and 75 slugs and 00 buckshot the mounting screw came loose.

The next time I went out I used light duty (pink) lock tight and have had zero problems since then. I find a red dot on a 12 gauge very fast on targets, maybe not as fast as a bead, but point of aim/point of impact reference is awesome. Unless your bead is zeroed at your desired range a red dot is great.

Adjustments are so easy on this micro red dot. I find a dime in the pocket very useful.

Is that stippling on that SGA forend? Looks good how does it feel? I run mag grips textured stick ons. They work, just not a life time part.

I am super excited my baby is getting a face lift. I decided to go another route. I sent gun to Vang Comp Systems for about $900.00 worth of work.

                      VCS Barrel w/Ports
VCS Ghost Sight Set w/Tritium Front.
                      VCS Detachable Side Ammunition Carrier
                      VCS Big Dome Safety.

I can't wait to get it all back.

Selling the Mesa Tactical 91630 that is on my gun. (See picture to see Side Saddle/Rail) asking 75 FIRM.

Yes stippling, done myself. Feels great, really grippy compared to the handguard out of the box which I think is really slick. Here is a better view:
And full disclosure I am trading stippling for ammo in the thread in my signature.

Nice builds guys. Been wanting to get some new toys and the wife has been requesting a shotgun. Found a smoking deal on this 590 A1 special purpose 18.5" guess no one was a fan of the kryptek.

Thinking of ordering magpuls stealth grey furniture to get the lop down for my wife. Any recommendations on addons? Cheek riser necessary for ghost rings or a trs25?

Wll, if you have a rail mount TRS-25 is well worth it. Why not both?

I can't wait to get my gun back from Vang Comp Systems. Getting their full service minus their extension. Factory 6+1 for the win.

Nice guns gents! Wish there was more of an aftermarket for my M4!
I once pondered over the debate of 9mm vs. .40, then I was introduced to .38 super and 10mm and forgot all about it.
