Auction has Ended: Benelli Super Sport 12GA

With Dove hunting right around the corner
it was time to make the purchase. I sold my Ruger Red Label O/U
at the end of last season because it was heavy and I didn't feel my ZEN...

Just ordered hopefully the last shotgun I will ever need. Love Gunbroker!
Anyone ells have experience with the Benelli SS?

Auction just ended hence have to wait for shipping then dros still. Patience.

Looking forward to blasting clays before the hunt.
I sized one of these out at the local G.S. and front stock placement seemed "more forward" vs. what I'm used to
with my longtime Rem 1100 Semi-Auto.

One thing that struck me immediately Its amazingly lite!

Just got her home, boy these Italian's are lookers aren't they!
Didn't make it out to the range today so I have to wait until next weekend
before I try her out. So far Ive read nothing but good things about Benelli's and hope the same reins true for the Super Sport.

I have heard nothing but good things about them. Also looks like it is all set up with a variety of briley goodies. Congrats and enjoy!

Gorgeous! If there were one high-end autoloader I could choose, it'd definitely be a Super Sport. Nice purchase there, bud! Looks like it'd be extremely comfortable to shoot all day long whether it be dove or clays.

I shoot trap with a Benelli Supersport 12 gauge with 28" barrel almost every week, some folks will say that the Supersport is more of a sporting clay gun and that it is too "light" to be a trap shotgun but I seems to do alright with it.

While I've never done Dove hunting myself, I think the Supersport will do you very well. It is light and because there are no gas ports in the front, the forearm is very slim, allowing for easy grip and swinging of the gun. Just the ticket to track and shoot fast moving birds.

The lowest load I've ever used successfully on mine is the Estate 1180fps 1oz #7.5 shot, just in case you're looking at exploring low recoil stuff. Those "Dove loads" loaded at 1250fps with 1oz shots will feel like nothing if you use them in your Supersport, I've shot Fiocchi and Herters ones and they cycle just fine.

BTW the instruction manual suck balls, look at these videos instead:

Mind you Ive been shooting a 68 Rem 1100 my entire life and now Im faced with a choice of chokes which came with the SuperSport:

                      * "F" NO STEEL SHOT
                      ** "IM" NO STEEL SHOT
                      *** "M" STEEL SHOT OK
                      **** "IC" STEEL SHOT OK
                      ***** "CL" STEEL SHOT OK

I understand Full & Modified but have no experience IM, IC & CL. I'll commence with reading up.
If anyone can chime in on which do you suppose is purposeful for Dove... please let this rookie know.
Thanks for all the help gentlemen!

Only thing I'd change is the stock, I'm not much for those black stocks but I can picture that with a extra fancy grade American Walnut stock and that would just plain make my day.
                          A great looking shotgun congrats!

Improved modified, improved cylinder, and cylinder.

I'd really pattern this With the ammo your going to use when dove hunting, and see which one works best at the ranges you are shooting.
