I couldn't find any other galleries, so I'll start one.
I picked up this Mossberg 195 in Kansas last week.

Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

My grandfather left my dad a shotgun just like that in 20ga. Only problem was if you closed the bolt quickly the firing pin drops. It went off once in my hands ( luckily in the ground a few feet in front of me ) and twice it went off for a friend of mine. Since then it sits in the safe! Not sure if its a regular thing with that gun but I would use caution with who you hand it to, and never ever slap the bolt shut!!!

I've got an old 1910's or 20's Mauser action that was converted to shoot 12g. Never shot it, scared to. Apparently they're not the least bit safe, but it's a cool crappy piece of history.

My dad only destroyed 1 gun

It was a 20 gauge bolt gun. If bumped or dropped, the sear tripped and would fire.

He told me it was not worth selling as no one deserved a dangerous firearm.

I think Savage still produces some

                    this thread needs a lift

grandpa's 183k [not pictured, but still have it ] was the first shotgun I fired..

fond memories of that old gun, so I bought a pair of them for my kids

haven't fired the Stevens tube feeder yet, but I'm sure the kids will enjoy it too.

I'm always on the look out for older Savage or Stevens bolt action shotguns. PM if you have any leads..

My first shotgun was a Stevens 20 gauge bolt action when I was 12....my brother and I both got one for Christmas 1956.
Don't really know or remember, where or when I got rid of it??
Kind of wish I still had it even though it swing like a 4"x4" fence post.

Never thought much of a bolt action for clay's or bird hunting but buck shot and slugs.............works great!
