    Saiga12 Shortened

So I was on the verge of selling my S12 and after not having shot it for close to a year, I took it to the range for what I thought would be the last time. Long story short, I was reminded of why I bought it in the first place and decided to keep it - and shorten the barrel to what is the most acceptable legally. The barrel is now 18" with the Polychoke which is blind pinned/welded.

Pic Before (Barrel was 19" plus another 3 or so with the Polychoke):

    Pic After:

Next on the list are HK sights. Oh, and if you want it done, go to Randall (http://ar15barrels.com/)

    Thanks for looking - Victor

Yup - shot it right after. Went straight to Angeles. Recoil - there's a bit more than before but nothing to really write home about. What's more noticeable is the muzzle flip..but maybe it's due to me seeing the tip of the barrel now lol!

I never cared for the Saiga 12 ... that is, until I saw those pics. That thing is a beauty.

What parts do you have on her?

                    Why a poly choke?

sorry, just not used to seeing them on anything other than c&r shotguns.

I know - I felt the same way. For 2 reasons - the added length lets me cut the barrel shorter and still achieve the 18" legal requirement and blind pinned/welded at the modified setting, I can shoot slugs, 00 Buck very accurately...not to mention shooting clays with field/target load. The Polychoke set at M lets me do it all. It makes the Saiga very versatile.
