Hey there everyone. New here. Just wanted to share my Benelli M4, my home firearm.
Modified it to fit my needs.
-Scalarworks Sync mount with Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM06
-RXArms Titanium Charging Handle
-FFT Carrier
-FFT Bolt Release
-FFT Titanium Full Length Magazine Tube
-FFT Follower
-Midwest Industries M-Lok handguard
-T-Rex Arms Lightbar Scout Mount (extended light mount to reach the barrel)
-Arisaka 600 Body, Malkoff E2HTv2 Head, Surefire DS00 cap
-Modlite Modbutton Lite with M-Lok adapter
All in all, it's basically perfect. 922R compliant, full length tube, cycles everything. The last thing I want to do is to chop the stock down a bit, to shorten the LOP. I tried the Mesa Tactical stock, and I really didn't like the mounting design, and I found the shorter LOP with the same profile pistol grip to be really awkward.
For anyone wondering about the light and light button placement, I'm left handed.

I keep it loaded with Hornady #4 Varmint Express buckshot. I find it patterns far better than the Winchester Super-X 00 I can easily get, and I appreciate the extra pellets and the less potential overpenetration in a home defense situation. I'll explore some high power birdshot loads at some point.

After about 200 rounds, it started to wobble on me, despite everything being fully tightened. I tried to tighten it further, and it was already as tight as it would go, and Vibra-Tite had been applied on the threads.
That just turned me off from it.
I also didn't like the change in the take down process. From other members anecdotes on BenelliUSA, that handguard really does not want to be removed and replaced many times. People have had the recoil spring retention washer become one with the Urbino screw, and people have no choice but to remove it with the stock. Then the whole recoil spring which is under way more pressure than say an AR buffer spring, wants to rip it's way out. I just wasn't a fan of that, vs the tool-less removal and mounting of the stock system.
The Midwest handguard definitely changes the take down process, but it's two tiny set screws at the bottom that just need to be backed out a few turns to remove the barrel as normal.
At some point I may pursue a 3-6 point recoil tube with a fixed and pinned collapsable stock so that I can set my LOP exactly where I want it.Comment

Nice setup. I really should look into replacing my old chunky Surefire handguard with the Midwest.Hey there everyone. New here. Just wanted to share my Benelli M4, my home firearm.

Thank you. That Surefire handguard is actually quite rare and desirable, if you do decide to do so head over to the BenelliUSA forums, I'm sure people over there would be all over it.
I'm not sure how the Surefire handguard goes on, but just be aware if you're not that the Midwest handguard needs two set screws that press against the magazine tube to stay in place. Once they're in, it's REALLY snug and on there.
That being said, those set screws do need to be backed out in order to remove the barrel, so it changes the no tool field strip dynamic.
The set screws also do innately leave some marks on your magazine tube, due to the fact that they need to be tightened down onto the tube.
It's pretty easy to back out the two screws and take the barrel off and get the bolt out, but if you want access to the pistons, it's a lot more awkward, as you have to completely take off the handguard, which is 4 screws to get to the pistons.Comment
