HEYYYYY. I have two model 981's. They are great shotguns and honestly I think they are better than the Maverick 88 and Remington Express. I could give a **** if its made in China or on Mars. Here's mine.



I don't even bother dressing up the Remington cause it feels cheap, to me, compared to this bad boy. I have an identical, unmodified, one that's gonna be my slug shooter. This ones for close quarters (Home Defense). I don't like to spend too much money on the one that will be taken away if I have to use it. The slug shooter will be the real beast of the two. I'll post when I am finished with that one. A couple of months or so.

I got mine at big 5 but I think they discontinued selling them there. Mine is a piece of crap. It doesn't reliably release a fresh shell from the magazine when you rack it after firing. I have had a "gunsmith" look at it and he re-staked some parts inside the receiver because they were loose also. But it still does it. I also tried a Wilson Combat extra power mag spring and follower too, and that didn't fix it either. It needs some more work. I will have more in it than just buying a 870 to start with. YMMV.
