First O/U Shotgun FAIR

Hi All,

This is my first official Calguns post, though I have been lurking for awhile. I really want to by my first O/U shotgun with the intention of shooting clays/trap/skeet. Unfortunately I don't have a ton of cash to spend. Originally I wanted to buy a Lanber 2097 Sporting Lux that I saw but I sat on it too long and missed it and haven't seen one since (I've seen a couple of 2087s and 2099s at Cabelas online). I have a sentimental attachment to Spanish shotguns as my grandfather, who taught me to shoot when I was younger, is from the Basque country and he loved Arrietas (which sadly I can't afford). Anyway, I came across a new FAIR "pathos" on the EAA website for $864 (around the price of the used 2097 Lanber I missed out on). From my research, it seems that these are made by Rizzini, which I know is a great brand. I understand that this is like their "B" level model and I think I'm ok with that being I'm a beginner and given the price point. Should I jump on this or wait for another Lanber 2097 or a Sarasketa (Sarasqueta) to pop up? Maybe another recommendation? Thanks so much!

I would hold off for a better deal on a better (used) o/u like a Beretta or Browning. The EAA deal is for a used gun and is sold as is. Not worth the gamble - especially if you have never handled or shot one.

A friend has a LSI Pointer that he paid $600 OTD and he loves it. On the lower end, try a CZ (not the Mallard).
