Noob, Benelli sbe2, value?

I just got this out of jail. Very cool shotgun. My first since my 10th birthday which was a very long time ago.
Curious the value on a used sbe2? I took this in trade for my new ar15.
Plan on running to the concord range for some clay shooting. Been like a million years since i shot at clays.
Question, is it ok to run a real tree sg at the clays? Or is that a no no around all those slick ou? Hope not to get laughed at too hard at the range.

In Concord, you'll find a lot of guys shooting a mixture of shotguns. To me, it's never been a snooty place to shoot.

Although it's not the ideal shotgun for clay shooting, you should have no problems shooting it at clays. Choke it properly and shoot shells that keep the inertia action functioning properly. Some Benelli SBE2 can cycle 1oz loads reliably, others require the recommended 1-1/8 oz. Either way, you'll find out what works and what doesn't. As far as value is concerned, in good condition with normal wear and all of the accessories I'd place a used value somewhere between $1100 - $1200 +-. In the end, it's only worth what the buyers market will bare.

Thanks for the advice. Gun is pretty sweet, always wanted one since i shot one 45 years ago. Being from a working class family, pop only had pumps. Had this opportunity to own one and could not pass it up.
SG has the short 26 inch barrel so it should be ok on the clays. PO gave me a box of 1 oz shot shells and said it cycles fine.

They sell reloading supplies at the clubhouse. I've been getting Claybuster wads for the same price as online once I include shipping. Pretty fair prices on other things too even without a member discount.

The value is tough to estimate without knowing the gun's condition, round count, accompanying OEM accessories, etc. Like hattles estimated, I would guess around $1100-1200.

And I would seriously doubt you would get any sideways looks while you run your SBE at the range - it's one of the best shotguns on the planet.

Its a Benelli, you'll get looks alright, mostly looks of envy.

If you plan to shoot clays a lot, I'll also recommend a shooting vest. Helps you carry shells in the pockets and some have recoil pad on the shoulder. After 200 rounds or so, the recoil pad on the shooting vest really helps.

I shoot trap with a 24" Benelli M2 and do decent. still fairly new, but shoot 18-20's. I find that acceptable for someone like myself who's only shot trap a few times.

Nothing wrong with shooting it at clay ranges, I shoot mine before ducks and geese to get used to it after shooting over/unders typically. Mine functions fine with any shells, never had a problem. I bought mine used for $1000 several years ago, and it's served me well since then.

Previous owner claimed he only shot about 600 rounds. Mostly carried/duck blind time. Seems about right as the inside, rail, bolt dont seem like much wear on the rails.
the duck dog lab ate the original case, no extras outside of 5 chokes. Overall nice condition, no gouges, idiot marks or scratches. Only field wear.
I cant wait to get some rounds through her. Thanks for the kind words regarding range use with a real tree camo sbe. I didnt want to stick out like a sore thumb. Bad enough im short, ugly, hairless and asian. Lol.

lmao.... im a ak/ar guy personally. As stated above, it was a trade i could not resist. Anderson m4 flat top for this benelli sbe2. I did give him two mags, 50 rounds (assorted 54 and 62 grain), one set of magpul open sites, and a bushnell 223/ar red dot scope.
Could not turn it down.

In that case it's a good thing you did not get the 28" barrel. SBEs have a very long receiver and that longer barrel takes a while to get moving unless you are built like an ape.
