Beretta 682 vs 682 vs sv10 vs?

Hi guys, so I've been out of the clays scene for a while when I had to sell my old o/u. Thanks to perusing the Beretta booth at the Shot Show I now want a new shotgun.

A brief timeline - it used to be the 682 was the one to get. I stopped following the scene about a year after the Gold E came out.

I got to fondle the 692, sv10 and dt11 at Shot Show and was pretty impressed. My budget is at the 692 level.

I'm wondering should I seek and old 682 or gold e, or get the new 692? I dont know much about the sv10 but i feel like the engineering of the 682 surpasses it.

What happened to shotguns? I remember PSA getting the first shipment of F3's and they were $3500....I had quite the awakening when I started looking into shotguns recently haaaha.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well.

Sorry I should add that I'm looking for a sporting clays gun. Game of choice is sc and 5stand.

Where do you live? My buddy bought a 692, and I'm sure he'd let you shoot it. It seems like a nice gun to me.

I like my 682 Gold Sporting. No experience with the others. DT's are pretty heavy. Gunbroker always has lightly used Gold E's for quite reasonable prices.

Hi Brad, I had a feeling and was hoping you'd chime in. We met years ago at Moore N Moore and just random range spottings. When I get a chance to go out I'll be sure to let you know so we can meet up. It's been years since I've shot at clays but hopefully it'll be like riding a bike haaha.

jagerdog - the 682's are hard to beat for the money. can't afford a dt anyways haaha, but I found a pretty decent deal on a not very used good condition 682 gold e. But for some reason after handling it, i'm not exactly jumping on the deal. if i can find a new 682 gold e sporting for the same ol' price i'd jump on that. that's what i'm trying to find.

A question I have is that if the 692 is worth costing $2000 more than a 682. I know the differences but never thought the 682 needed any changes.

I also currently own a 682 Gold E in skeet, use it for SC as well though.

I have not shot the 692 and from my understanding it is the 682 upgrade, though I'm not sure why other than some engineering and streamlining. Apparently you know as you have done the homework.

I have shot an SV10 however and can verify that it is a very close match to the weight and feel of the Gold E. The one that I shot had the kick-off included and was a soft shooter.

If you were comfortable with the Gold E at one time, you should be again. That said however, I think that I would opt for the replacement 692, there has been some engineering done to it to improve from the 682.

It would be great to be able to shoot a round or two with a shotgun before buying though, so if Brad's buddy allows it, I'd try that first and go from there.
