choke & slug question

Hi,
Can Brenneke Black Magic slugs (or other rifled slugs) be used in a smoothbore barrel with improved cylinder choke? I thought they are fine, but somebody said only NO CHOKE at all...

Sure no problem at all it will work great.

Yes. Improved cylinder is the preferred choke for rifled slugs.

When they refer to "no choke" it is to mean no "screw in" choke devices.

Few shot guns are made stove pipe or no choke at all or staight bore all the way up from the chamber forcing cone.

If the shot gunn is made with threaded replaceable chokes, it should always fired with one of the chokes correctly installed. If you shoot the shot gun with exposed threads, you would dammage something or drastic badd event might occure. With out the proper devise you pattern will be adverse=ly effected.

So if you had a treaded choke system when shooting slugs or sabot - you would correctly install the improved cylinder or stove pipe threaded fitting into barrel. ASSsuming pump or auto. If double barell you can put stove pipe in one for slugg and a choke for buck shot.

The shotgun is a Mossberg 500, the barrel is 12ga 20", came with 3 AccuChoke tubes, so let me rephrase the question: can I use the Imp.Cyl. choke tube when shooting Brenneke Black Magic 3" slugs?
