    Upgrading a Winchester 1300

Like the title says, I have had a Winchester Defender 1300 for a while now.
Overall a very nice shotgun, but I was digging the new FN style tactical shotguns, which is basically the same platform as my 1300.

After doing my research, I quickly found the Mesa Tactical M4 adapter was the best way to start, but unfortunately was discontinued. I luckily found Kit Fox Tactical who makes essentially the same M4 adapter. This allows for the replacement of the shotgun stock with a buffer tube and M4 pistol grip.

I added a Magpul ACS stock with the largest recoil pad, a shell holder, and an LED flashlight for checking out bumps in the night.

I hope you enjoy the pictures below. P.S. I have no affiliation with Kit Fox Defence, but I have no problem recommending them to anyone with an orphan 1300 like mine.

Love my 1300 Defender. Rides behind my seat wherever I go.

Have been on the fence about changing to a pistol grip stock.

How does it shoot with that set up? It looks a little high if you wanted to keep the std bead sight.

Wonder if that gap between the pistol grip and trigger is noticeable while shooting. On the plus side, its a stock/grip adapter and top rail, all rolled into one!

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Yes there are still some aftermarket stocks out there or you could try giving Winchester a call about a replacement one.
