    Benelli Over/Under...

In case you haven't heard, there's hints of a Benelli O/U on the horizon:

Thanks for the heads-up! If it is all good, it might be in my buy list this year.

Oh no.....not another Benelli I just need to have!

The ETHOS is on my to-buy list, looks like this one will be too.

That looks like it could be a very ugly shotgun.

Although I really liked the Browning Cynergy, and shot it well, a lot of people could not get over the non traditional look of it.

It will be interesting to see what Benelli has come up with.

            ooo00.

Very cool. I wonder if it's going to be like the Sig O/U made by Rizinni, and if it's a sporting model it does not have an automatic safety you have to click off every time you load.

Don't be surprised if it's a break action semiautomatic shotgun that opens up like double-barrel guns.

There is one made by Cosmi, Italy

I don't like the look of fish scales on a shotgun.

OK, so they'll join the market that is already well-saturated with good products. Unless they come in at the under-1000 price point, they will be competing with Berettas and Brownings. If they go higher, they will be competing with semi-customs like Guerini, etc. Cant imagine what their marketing department is thinking with this. There isn't that much open territory in the O/U market. Most of the guns in that market are about as good as they're going to be in the price bracket they live in.

Of course, some folks would buy it just for the Benelli name, but I dont see that as a good business model.Personally, I've not been all that impressed with Benellis going back quite a ways. A lot more sizzle than actual steak when compared to most of the other guns in their price ranges.

It's true. Benelli has a whole new patented design lock up and barrels for an O/U.

I found some images and patent info on the Maryland Shooters forum.

Edit: Posted the link from the Maryland Shooters forum Benelli 828U discussion where the links to the images were posted.

                            here it is -

I'm not sure how I feel about its looks, but I do like the removable trigger group, the engineering and the adjustability. Too bad they only introduced a field model (I assume sporters will show up sometime down the road?)

Part of me wants one just because. I'd choose the black/adonized finish over the engraved nickel.

$2500! No way. I've spent much more than that on shotguns but these guns are long proven.
