    Brenneke and Mod choke

    Hi,
    Does anybody know if a Mossberg 500 12ga (smoothbore) with fixed modified choke would be OK for shooting Brenneke Black Magic (3") slugs?

      The length of the slug doesn't matter to anything but your shoulder......and maybe your cheek.

      If the slugs you are talking about are rifled then a IC or Cyl smooth choke is what you're after. If the slugs you are talking about are not rifled just be close to your target because they shouldn't be very accurate.
      I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

      When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

          Modified should be fine. Slugs are not usually hard-cast lead, so they deform quite a lot.

          A modified choke doesn't do much constriction, so the slug will just deform and pass through.

              Black Magic slugs are not as soft as "usual", but they're rifled, so I guess they would constrict enough to pass through, right? Wouldn't like to crack the pipe...
