    Mossberg 590 Mag Spring

When I load the magazine with more than 5 shells the mag spring seems to fold back onto itself or the coils get tangled up. Then i have to point the muzzle to the sky to get the shells to drop back so i can chamber one.

I thought I had read a post about replacing that spring with a different type, but my searches did not come up with anything.

    Any suggestions?

I presume that you're guessing since you can't see the spring. Check for a damaged magazine spring and/or magazine plug if there is one(probably not). Clean the magazine tube and follower. Check the magazine tube and follower for deformation. If needed, replace the magazine spring.

The spring description is from disassembling the mag tube and unmucking the spring. I'm thinking of cutting a few coils off there.

The follower and everything look good.

Just looking to see if anyone has replaced theirs with a beefier version.

      Thanks

Gotcha. I would not cut coils off, the springs become weak from use. shortening the spring would accelerate the problem. I would replace the spring with either a factory or Wolff spring.
