    2 1/2" Shells in a Mossberg 590

Picked up a few boxes of Slugs and just noticed they are 2 1/2".
Any cycling problems with these shorter shells in a pump action?

          I thought 2 3/4" was the standard?

          Thanks for the info.
I read some reports online that some shooters were having hang-ups with the slightly shorter shell.

2 3/4" is fired shells. Crimped shells need the extra room for the crimp to open up. Unfired shells can be all sorts of different lengths

              ^^^ This

Some can be short enough that they allow me to get another shell in the mag tube.

Thanks Guys. I knew they would fire without a problem as the barrel can handle up to 3" shells, but my question was more about cycling from the magazine tube.
However from what you guys say, it should not be an issue.
                Here is a pic.

The left is the 2 1/2" inch S&B shells I got and the right is a Standard 2 3/4" Remington Shell.
