Thinking about getting into duck hunting

I enjoy abalone diving and spear fishing, but lately I've been thinking about hunting some land animals. I've shot some trap and skeet and enjoyed that, so I've been thinking about giving duck, dove and or goose hunting a try. Unfortunately I don't have anybody in my family who is a hunter who can show me the ropes. How do I get started? I've got an 870 express that I would think would get me by for a little while. Other than that I have no hunting gear. Any suggestions on getting started would be greatly appreciated.

There's a hunting forum here, that's a good place to start.

I'm just north and can show you the ropes....First up are the must haves to just tag along hunt...Hunting license, Federal Duck Stamp, Calif Duck Stamp, Harvest Stamp, chest waders and a water proof hunting jacket...any camo pattern or earth tone ..no snow country pattern. Then we can meet up for a duck or goose hunt
