    $200 for a Mavericks 88 good?

Is $200 for this shotgun a good price or does anyone know of somewhere in OC I can get it cheaper?

I'd say it's a good price. That was the price when I bought mine at Big 5. Fortunately for me, they also had a 10% off coupon, so it was $180. But I think $199 is the cheapest I've seen them go for.

seems like a good deal to me,a buddy of mine just bought one at big 5.
I own a maverick and have never had an issue with it.

This may seem off topic, but I think a better question is the other post, why not a Moss 500?

What's the difference between Mossberg 500 and Maverick? they're both made by Mossberg. I have a 500 but don't know much about the Maverick other than it's by Mossberg.

Maverick is cheaper in price. Not materials. Handled the same for me. Only difference is the position of the safeties. The mavericks even take most mossy 500 accessories

I'm looking at it over the 500 due to cost. Trying to stay on the cheap for it.

I've been keeping my eye out for a good used one as something to hang in the closet for HDR. IIRC they accept all Mossberg 500 acesories except the foregrip. I've seen them used for $150 but anytime they come up on sale new I find something else to spend the cash on.

$200 is the lowest price I have seen for the Maverick 88. I have no idea where you would find it cheaper.

I picked one up a year ago from Buds for $189 but had to pay receiving of $40 to my FFL so I'd say $200 from a shop local to you is a good deal.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

I plan on getting a pair of Mav 88s and Hi-Point 9s in the next few months. Going full cheapo lol

Cheap is great if they are reliable.

Mines run 100% with a variety of 2 3/4" buckshot, and several boxes of #2 steel 3" shot so far. Its been a few hundred rounds total. It just needs to work at night in it's nice clean condition. It's not like I'm invading Angola or anything.

personally I would think it's the best of the low budget pump shotguns and with today's market prices I also think $200 is a good price for a new one
