    Could post in either knife or shotgun forum ...

    Went waterfowling this AM. Tried to affix the barrel to my trusty Savage Model 30 Series E (I've put ~30 years of hard use on it) about 3 minutes before shoot O'clock ... damned thing would not go on.

    Close inspection reveled some burrs near the mounting threads ... no doubt the barrel had been bumped or dropped or otherwise roughly handled. Stuff happens.

    Whipped out the Benchmark knife and commenced to whittle that steel burr down ... 4 minutes later burr removed barrel mounted and the hunt is on!

    Moral: Always have a quality sharp knife ready.
