    Is this load worth buying?

I'm starting to run low on 12ga buckshot and when searching around, I found this stuff: "Multi-Defense load Is it worth getting for HD or is it just a gimmick?
    Thanks!

What would be the purpose of the one big pellet?

Just get some standard LE #4, #1, #0, #00, #000 buck. Those are expensive and not proven loads. Im using #00 federal tactical LE w/ flitecontrol wad. Paterns softball size at 10 yards with my 18" Cylinder bore 870.

Sounds like a 'load' to me...

Nah, seriously, stick with the proven stuff. Do you know any LE agency that uses that stuff? I doubt it...

Then the question is, how much does that big .65 in. pellet penetrate/over-penetrate? Would it be similar to shooting a slug inside your residence?

This dates back to the early days of guns.

In the Revolutionary war, the muskets were often ordered to be loaded with "Buck and Ball".
A large solid ball and several buckshot.

It can still work, but the larger ball or slug tends to disrupt the pattern, so you may have patterns with holes in it due to the larger slug disrupting it.
          Pattern it.

Ballistic Products had a load similar to this. It was known as a dangerous game load. 6 pellets of 00 buck beneath a 7/8 ounce fracture slug. All contained in a 2 3/4" Active hull at 1200 fps or so. As I recall, recoil was solid. Never really found a use for it but it was fun to shoot.

Made in Italy. Should work to 25 yards. Definately should an aimed round.

Sounds / looks like a Military Round repackaged for a differant market /application. I agree buck and ball but hopefully cusioned with foam balls and a well designed wadd for this round.

A good 00 Law Enforsement round with a heavy stiff plastic wad could achieve the same goal.
