    Skeet/Trap League

Has anyone been to, or active in Oak Tree's trap/skeet league? Saw a posting for them today and was curious about them. I know Oak Tree may not have the best rep around here, but they have great trap and skeet fields and are the closest too me

Trap & Skeet is pretty much the same no matter where you shoot it. If you like Oaktree go for it.

I'm sure their league is fine.

The Skeet league at Oak Tree died last year due to lack of participation. They want to get it going again, but so far I don't think they have.
I don't know about the Trap league, I haven't been there on a Thursday night in a long time.
They are still doing their Friday night Fun Shoots, they usually draw a good group.

Skeet at Oak Tree is a bit harder than most places, the background makes picking up the target more difficult. I've been told by several people, including my coach, if you shoot Skeet well at Oak Tree, you will shoot very well anywhere else...Been there done that, I believe them...

Oh they should probably take it down off their website then lol.

There was a tournament going on there, think that would be fun to do! Know how to get any info when those are?

Like I said, they do want to get it going again...If they take it off their website, it will never happen...

The only advertising I've seen for a tournament there has been fliers at the club. I guess you have to be there on a regular basis to see when they will happen.
Not good information, I know, but it is what it is...

They are having a Sporting Clays tournament in November...Look HERE

I try to get up there about every other week, but with school its hard sometimes

And that's true didn't think about that

I've only done sporting clays a couple of times, prefer skeet and trap

For one it is more expensive and generally less available. Not sure his reasons.

Pretty much the reasons AAShooter said. More expensive than doing a couple rounds of trap/skeet
