OP, I don't mean any disrespect by this question. I'm sure the quality is going to be worth every penny you spent, and besides that I spent a little more than you on my Benelli M2. But are there any cheaper under and over shotguns that would still be worth owning?

I guess I'll just have to save up for one. Since reading this post I have been watching all the YouTube Videos I could find and it sure is a nice shotgun. Maybe by the time I save up some money I can get lucky and find one for about the same price you paid. Anyway, congrats once again on a spectacular find.

YES!

You can find brand new Ruger Red Labels for right around $999 and very good used like new entry level Browning Citoris. Also the new Franchi Instinct L is a good buy for a quality entry level o/u.

The CZ Redhead Deluxe, Mossberg Silver Reserve II, Lanber are a few of the other decent guns to consider.

It's all about what you are willing to settle for vs budget.
Personally, I saved up to get something I would be proud to pass down to my son. It was the most expensive firearm I've ever purchased, but that's ok 'cause it's the one I use the most.
Do you have a shotgun specialty store up north? Or maybe start showing up at some clays events and begin to ask questions. I know all the guys I used to shoot with would be glad to help you and even let you shoot their shotguns after the session.
