Those Chamber mates or whatever they call them? If I'm going to get tubes I'm going to get a set of full length tubes. If I can't afford them then I'll wait and save some more. Tubes are on the bottom of my wish list, though. I only shoot skeet for fun - not competitively like trap - so I'd rather find a used set.Truckers make the world go 'round!

I agree, heavier gun is better. The issue some people have the change in feel of the gun when tubes are installed, the gun will feel different. But you could always add a barrel weight when shooting 12ga to keep the balance the same."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"Comment

OP, back in the 80's I used to shoot a lot of skeet with two buddies at Booge Mercers (now Oak Tree).
We started out with Remington 1100's and progressed to O/U's.
One day Dennis shows up with a .410 and was merciless teasing the rest of us about our 'howitzers".
He kept telling us, there's not a lot of difference. If you're on, you're on.
So, Bob and I get .410's, me a Browning Citori from my old friend Al Capone at King Gun Works.
Dennis was right. If you're on, you're on.
Dennis would regularly shoot 25 straight, sometimes 50 straight (best natural shooter with any weapon I've ever shot with).
Bob was good for 23-24 regularly with an occasional 25 straight and me, 21-22 regularly with a rare 25 straight.
Groups of other shooters would congregate behind us and you could hear them talk quietly, "watch these guys, they're all shooting .410's!"
They didn't know the secret, if you're on, you're on.
Lots cheaper reloading .410 than 12 ga. too.
Congrats on your 25 straight!Last edited by VictorFranko; 10-22-2014, 7:35 AM.Comment

Speaking of snake shot years back when Miramar was still open I had 5 pounds of #12 shot, loaded a couple 1 oz 12 ga for use on station 8 did do a good job on both the high and low house there.US Navy Retired, NRA Lifetime member. Member CRPA
