    Mossberg Mini 510 20 ga 18.5"

Anyone got any experience with these? Looking into getting one for my girlfriend. It's the only shotgun we've found that is comfortable for her to shoulder due to the short LOP. The only problem is trying to use it for trap shooting. It comes with choke options but I'm not completely sold on the barrel length. Guess we could order a long barrel version but it's just a quick drive down to the shop for a good price of $280.

    No experience

No experience but I just went and watched a YouTube video and it looks like a sweet little shotgun. The only draw back is that according to the video I watched it won't take an extended magazine tube. But it holds 3 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber so if that is all you need then it should be nice. And you can't beat that price. Is that brand new or used?

It's new. On the website it says 3 and 4 round versions, however that work. All and all I guess the small capacity should be fine.

        ><

Get the long barrel with interchangable choke tubes first if your going to shoot clays. I also recommend Skeet shooting over Trap for a beginner, especially a beginner with a pump

Here's the thing with the 510 Mini, if you want a 22 inch barrel, which, at least as far as I've seen is the minimum barrel length for most ranges, you'll also have to replace the magazine tube. The replacement tube has a 5 round capacity. I ordered the set from Mossberg and the barrel comes with a front and mid-bead. It ended up being a failed experiment for me, my wife is a short lady and even with the shorter lop, with a 22in barrel, the gun is too awkward for her.

If you're in the Los Angeles area, I'll be at the skeet clinic on Sunday 10/19 and I'd be happy to bring it with me if you want to take a look at it.
