Does re-threading a fixed choke o/u barrel for screw in chokes affect the value of the shotgun. It's a browning Citori.

Re-threading Shotgun Barrels -- Lose Value?

I'm assuming you are talking about a base model or hunting model Citori.
NO! What it does is increase the desirability and salability of the gun. The one exception would be a purist. Of course you would also want to have a reputable gunsmith or choke manufacturer do the work.
Keep in mind that there are literally hundreds upon hundreds of Citori hunting models for sale all over the net and the ones with choke tubes of equal quality when compared to a fixed choke gun usually sell for a hundred or two higher.

I bought a 20-year old Citori in 1996 and had it threaded for choke tubes. I still use that gun for ducks, so I definitely got my money's worth out of the choke tubes. If you like the gun and plan to keep it, why not tube it?Comment
