New Mossberg 590A1

I bought an 80 round can of Fiochi Lower Recoild OO buckshot at the show to get started. Recalling Wal_Mart had some tacticool USGI OO buckshot in the ammo case on my last visit I stopped there last night and bought 20 5 round boxes that just fills one of those Plano plastic ammo cans. While the Fiochi is good stuff it is not sealed at the crimp while the Winchester tacticool OO buckshot is buffered and sealed at the crimp. Other than buying a giant bore snake I think I'm set for accessories.

I see the 500 for 299 but not the 590. What am I missing?

Does the 590A1 have a steel receiver?

The 590A1 receiver is milled from aluminum.

I have one. Love it. But it really sees little use. Every now and then some slugs and flight control buck (great stuff) at the 25 yard pistol range at Richmond Rod and Gun.

One cheap mod I made is a heavy duty Wolff magazine tube spring and follower from Brownell's.

Yes like the Gen 4 Glocks I just bought the Mossberg 590A1 is all business.

Just picked up my Mossberg 590A1 today from the 10 day hold. Detail stripped, cleaned, reassembled, and ready to go! This is the same exact model shotgun I saw carried by American Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, some with pistol grips.

I put a Magpul stock on mine which drops your business hand down and forward a little bit. I think it feels a little better and it also looks cool. Haha. I call that a win win.

Found one today

I went to Big 5 today just to see what they had instock. Well they had a Mossberg 590a1 on sale for $419. I think that is a good deal. It had the extended magazine tube attached, but did not have the ghost ring sights on it. I think that is why it was priced so low. Regular price is $459. Not really bad either IMO. I think I am going to get one. Congrats once again on your nice find, and new shotgun.

I had mine delivered last Friday. To the farm Saturday to try it out. It really is a great looking and solid Shotgun. Palmetto has some great deals. $ 317.00 delivered.

I have one just like that, and love it. If you aren't already, you will soon be wondering where you can get a +2, flush-fit mag extension and clamp for that baby. S&J hardware has an extension and magpul has a clamp.
