you seriously think trap shooters are whinier than skeet shooters? after years of pulling my list goes like this:

Trap shooter- failing to hit 25 out of 25 at 16 yards = failure at life. that being said most of them are life failures.

Skeet shooter- talentless but able to whine and change the throwers trajectory so that the targets always fly right where they want them to be, making the game very easy. clever in that way.

5 stand shooter- here to have fun and usually cool. also tip the best out of all of them.

Back to the original question, and just for fun. There is a 3rd option.

The only complaint I've ever seen was when a lefty shooting an auto was throwing empties at a guy. Hull hits the guys gun leaving a mark on the wood - I kid you not. Guy was irate.

Depending on the type of wood and the features built into the stock, some custom stocks can run over $4000 with the lower end custom stocks starting around $2000. Marks on the wood affect the stock's/gun's value, much like denting the fender on a car. And NO, they're not the kinda marks that make the gun more identifiable.

Extended chokes, short barrel socks to protect the barrel from rack rash, stickers or the tape trick are the least expensive way to go. I've seen some guys with initialed grip caps, others with colored recoil pads and a couple with little colored pricing dots placed under their receivers. I've even seen one guy use colored spacers on his adjustable comb.

My solution: gun is always within arms length and within sight.
