Mossberg 600AT for HD

Hey gang,

I can pick up my brothers 600AT for about $100-150. It has a 28" barrel and pistol grip. Would it be best to have the barrel cut down to something more reasonable for HDR and if so....

What length
Approx cost from a smith. It has the sight rib on top and to reset to sight bead if necessary

Or buy an HD straight out and pass on this

Minimum over all length of the gun must be 26" (someone correct me if I am wrong here) So keep that in mind when having the barrel cut.
Minimum legal barrel length is 18" I would cut it at 18.5 to be safe.
A bead on a pistol grip gun is worthless, I wouldn't bother with getting it put back on.

How much would a smith charge? Don't know, you'll have to make some calls...
