Picking up my AIP pump in 9 days.I have a surefire p2x defender still in the box ready to use then i read that not all lights wil handle the recoil. Not ready to try the eotech or surefire forend yet.Question is will the defender live through thousands of rounds or is there another non forend light i should use thats designed for this?I appreciate any insight from this fine forum's members.

Weapon lights that 12g wont break?

It should. Surefire's warranty is pretty good too so I wouldn't worry about it. Their forends are great by the way but they're a bit heavy and it's nice to be able to remove the light to go to the range if you want. The forends aren't exactly convenient to take on and off."Kestryll I wanna lick your doughnut."

Surefire will tell you that their handhelds are not designed for weapon mounting.
I have an X300 on my 870, I shoot full power buckshot and slugs all the time and that light has never failed.Comment

I believe that LED's are supposed to be insensitive to shock...unlike older incandescent bulbs. I have a Surefire forend on my 870 with an incandescent bulb setup. No problems yet, but I've read of some people having issues with theirs. If your flashlight is LED then you should be GTG.Comment

Yup surefire had a ton to choose from that could withstand the 12 gauge.Comment

I asked about mounting that exact same light when I took some other lights in for repair, the guy told me the handhelds are not meant for mounting on weapons. Doesn't matter if it's LED or not.
That light is huge anyway, if tailcap activation is what you prefer I would take a look at the Scout series.Comment

Surefire forend light with 600/200 lumens! Keep it dedicated to the shotgun. You don't want to need your shotgun and find the light is elsewhere.Let us not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless when facing them. - Rabindranath Tagore

Mag light and duct tape?
sigpicOriginally posted by gun toting monkeyboyYou did ask. They were only following your instructions. Next time be a bit more careful in how you phrase your posts. If you give people a straight line like that, this is about the level of response you are bound to get. Just be glad you didn't post "Date this rifle"... Those pictures are usually very disturbing.
