Barrels

hey everybody.

so im new to the shotgun game. i carried one on duty for a few months overseas, but only ever dealt with that exact gun. to what extent are shotgun barrels universal or lack there of? for example... i currently have a 12 gauge Charles Daly 300HD that was given to me by a friend. it currently has a 18.5" barrel on it, and i cant find any charles daly 12 gauge barrels for sale anywhere. so is there any other barrels that would work, or what should i look for to check for compatibility? im trying to find a barrel say about 26-30" with a mod or full choke.

I know some Charles Daly shotguns were manufactured by Miroku in Japan; at least their O/U shotguns are. Try see if you can find a Miroku barrel if your shotgun is in fact made by Miroku in Japan. If you can't you may be better off finding another shotgun for clays because most clubs will not allow short barrels on their fields for safety and etiquette reasons.

Contact Charles Daly directly and inquire if they have barrels for that model in 26 or 28 inch available and ask what the part number might be for that shotgun.
