    Winchester SXP

    Hey all.

Looking for my first duck gun. Grew up shooting skeet with a 1100 and a Wingmaster.

Don't really wanna take either of those out to the marsh so......

Went to a store and played with a 3" Waterfowl SXP. liked the way it shouldered and the price was hard to beat $449.

Anyone have any experience with the SXP as a field gun??

    Thanks

Good gun, but you can find them for under $400, there's also a $25 rebate from Winchester on pump shotguns, but you'd have to buy it today 9/15 http://www.winchesterguns.com/produc...tail.asp?Id=54

Why not an auto? I just bought my son the SX3 auto w/a 26" barrel and that gun rocks, he took right to it on the clays course and was smoking dove with it yesterday morning; he's put almost 400 rounds through it in 3 weeks and not one jam of FTF issue. If it's a budget thing, I get that, the one I bought was $999 on sale, I took advantage of the $75 rebate on auto shotguns noted in the link above and brought it down a little more.

Both the Win. pump and auto use Invector-Plus chokes same as Browning, they're always easy to find and won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Rad. I just got a 3-1/2" SXP FOR $430 OTD, was the best local deal I could find. I was totally thinking about just getting a SX3, but my buddies all suggested a pump for my first duck gun. If I get really into it the SX3 will be my next purchase.

Thanks and I will for sure be using that rebate

Ive heard great things about the outlander too. I really wanted a browning A5 but think it would be a bit much for a first duck gun lol

Having shot all three at ducks (a 1100, Wingmaster and a Winchester).
I'd stick with either of the two Remington's!
The new Winchester is nothing but a re-hashed 1200/1300.........made in turkey.

Friend just bought a new black 12ga sxp 3" 28" for $302 OTD from Sportsman's warehouse.

They're cheaper than the price you mentioned.
