I wonder if the KSG will take a Modified choke? If it does, I'll be tempted to try and see if I can get a 25 on a round of trap with it.
(I scored my 1st 25 on the trap field last week)
Anyway, it is interesting to see that shotgun shooters are typically very slow to adopt and accept new technologies in firearms. Take red dot sights for example,, mention this on web sites like shotgunworld.com and you'll get lots of hate posts from older shooters who have shot with their O/U for the last 40 years. Mention a bullpup and you'll probably fry their pace maker.
If you ask me, I'll say to keep an open mind about technologies. While wife and I shoot trap every weekend with our Benelli semi-autos, I can see how a design like the KSG can be useful. Compact, high capacity from factory and polymer design, makes for a nice home or camp ground defense shotgun. I would like to see a magazine fed semi-auto version, yes I know about requirement for bullet buttons, I have it on my AR but magazines from Thorsend Customs with UBBT installed makes it largely a non-issued.
