My little sister just turned 21, and she's been killing it in school and work (even graduating early from SDSU!) So I figured she deserved a nice heirloom gift to commemorate her 21st birthday.
Well, she has been forever against firearms and despised my collection for awhile until her new boyfriend came along (nice guy.) He took her trap shooting, and it turns out she's a natural and loves it! She's even took 1st in her age group at a little competition at one of Escondido Fish & Game's weekend BBQs.
Seeing her focus, progress, and do so well at shooting solidified it.
So after some months of saving I got her a new Ruger Red Label 28" just in time for her birthday.

She's over the moon ecstatic about her new Ruger (which she's named Missy Ruger) and is having a good time getting used to it. We took it to the range yesterday and she kept converting clay into dust. Now she won't stop asking when we can go back. (-:
The thing swings smoothly, he recoil isn't that bad, and it feels perfectly solid.
It came with its own carrying case, set of chokes, interesting receiver lock, and a big Ruger sticker for her window.
The automatic safety isn't that big of a deal either, just took a few rounds to get used to.
All in all, one if the best purchases I've ever made.
