Not sure the projectile makes any difference .. using 'high brass' (full power) loads is the key I think.

Seems to me that with any brand new shotgun or pistol - can't comment on rifles - starting it out on a diet of high quality, full power ammo makes it happy. Then you can switch to economy ammo.

On my 930SPX I can defiantly feel the difference between the cycling of the bolt when shooting 1200fps loads and higher fps loads.

Also a full brass base extracts way better in most cases as there is more brass for the extractor to grab a hold on.

Clean and oil the action well. Keep the gas system (piston / rings / etc) very clean and dry (no oil).

Shoot some high FPS loads (00 buck and slugs) for break in.

You can search my past posts for other tips such as polishing the carrier latch ( http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=1...e-Tube-Problem ), etc.

So Saturday I decided to finally take my shotgun out to the range to try it out. I had it for about 8-9~ months but this was my first time shooting it.

Whenever I'd try to shoot it, it would shoot the shell in the chamber, but fail to eject/ load in another one, the entire bolt would not move/cycle.
A range master had to come over and help us remove the shells by hitting the butt stock against a post while pulling the bolt back to get it opened and he lubed it up really nice for us but the same thing continued to happen.

Do you think I can take it back to the place I got it to start a support fix for this or would I have to directly call Mossberg for this issue?

        Thanks!

At Wal-Mart buy the slugs in the box of 15 for $12 instead of the box of 5 for $6 to help keep cost down.

As far as the "extractor" is concerned low or high brass makes no difference. The extractor only grabs the rim of the hull and does so the same way no matter the type of shell.

Slugs are better in break in imho. 1600 fps vs 1350 fps. Slugs are pretty cheap at Walmart as well.

Shoot only buckshot, slugs or 3 inch birdshot.

930 doesnt work well with the cheap 2 3/4 birdshot.
