    Date comes in as ~1940.

The rib is more than likely Simmons (it should say on the left of the rib just in front of the receiver).

Condition looks decent, some wear on the stock, normal for a field gun of this age. Typical blue wear. As long as it's sound mechanically I would say $500 to $650 range. Of course many thing can change that price range. But good solid M-12 are fetching that range for a 12ga field gun.

20ga tend to fetch a bit more $600-800. 28ga are insane expensive and M-42's are all over the place from $1200 to what ever you want to spend...

Thank you for your assessment PC - No markings on the rib -

According to another member - It might be a "Money maker rib" - Also he thinks it might of been refinished -

      Recoil pad was added -

I don't think it's a Simmons rib, either. Top plane is too thin, rib is too wide, posts are not right, matting does not look right. I'd also guess Moneymaker, not that there is anything wrong with that. Receiver looks pretty decent, but the stampings on the barrel look like they have been polished, so probably a refinish, maybe when the rib was added. Gun has no collector value, it is strictly a shooter, probably a $400 gun at best.

OK, I agree on the rib, Money Maker.. Missed that on the pic.

The pad I would assume that it has been changed. I don't know about $400 at best... Though not rare, and a 12ga, these have been selling for $500 or so. You might want to post over at trapshooters.com, those guys know their M-12.

Ummm nope, the serial number was stamped on the receiver, in the Winchester factory polishing room, in 1941.

Saigon, got the exact date for you, February 8th, 1941.
Non factory vent rib, barrel has definitely been reblued, everything else but the recoil pad original. $250 lo to $300 hi.
