Reasonably Priced Gunsmith in Bay Area?

I bought the Marble Arms tritium bead off Brownell's for my HD shotgun: http://www.brownells.com/shotgun-par...prod19914.aspx

Unlike a standard bead, this one must be indexed so the long axis of the bead lines up with the barrel. Further complicating matters, my HD barrel does not have a rib, of course. So the post on the bead is going to need to be cut down so it doesn't protrude into the barrel. I expect there will only be two or three threads that can grab the barrel.

I do not feel confident I can do this without messing it up. I am looking for an inexpensive gunsmith in the Bay Area, preferably Peninsula or SF, who can do it. No hurry, I am fine with someone who works out of their house and I need to leave it with them for a while, as long as they are recommended and I am confident in their skills.

    Any ideas?

And I expect the solution to be something different than drilling and tapping the barrel

      Barrel band, maybe? Who knows.

your timing coundn't be better.. i just got a new copy of the pac bell yellow pages and happened to look at the firearms section.. here's what i found:

        Alfred's Gunsmith Service
506 Persia Ave, San Francisco, CA 94112
        (415) 334-9512

i haven't actually called the number to make sure the shop is still open, but you'd need to do that anyway to make an appointment and get estimate.

let me know if it works out for you because i have some work i'd like done as well.

Wow, I can't remember the last time I looked up a number in a phone book! Thanks, BPGuy, but I was really hoping for a recommendation from someone who had actually used the gunsmith for something.

Anyone? Gotta be someone in the Bay Area on here who has used a gunsmith?
