Personally I use Winchester 2 3/4" 9-pellet 00 Buckshot. Buy it in boxes of five at Wal-Mart for $4.95. Comes in a brown box, green hulls. A solid performer that my Mossberg 500A Persuader is loaded with for personal defense and as such, all I really use for practice. I don't like birdshot, and slugs/buckshot are all I feed any of my weapons.

Doesn't cost too much for a buckshot load, is fairly light on recoil and weapon wear and patterns all right from my 500 with a 20" barrel and improved cylinder choke as well as my Model 30 with a 24" barrel and full choke.

Economy buck/low recoil buck?
I've been running Rio Royal low recoil buck and slugs through my 1100.
Feels like a 20 gauge.

Oops, you are right. Sorry, my eyes are getting old... didn't see the topic was for buckshots.

Sgammo has the Nobelsport 2-3/4" 00 buck on sale -- $129.50 per case of 250 ($0.52 per round.) The Nobelsport is a pretty nice quality 00, enough for defense or duty use. At this price, not bad to stock up for all purposes.
