    Mossberg 500 Combo Sling Mount

So I have a Mossberg 500 combo from big 5, I know a few things are different from a standard 500 So before ordering I wanted to check with you guys.

I need to order a sling and the appropriate hardware, but most of what I'm seeing replaces the mag tube cap..the Combo I think is different than the standard 500 in this area (I think).

What sling/sling mounts are you guys using with this this gun?

I never thought I would want a sling..but I need a way to carry it while hiking next month on a camping trip.

Any help would be appreciated .

    Thanks

If you're running a two-point sling, you'll need to purchase a screw, which should go into the mag tube cap (attached to the barrel). My combo had the opening, and all i had to do was pick up the $1 insert at my local shop.

The stock has the second point for your two-point sling. I'm running a cheap-o (yet comfy) padded sling, which has slots to hold shells (I don't use the slots, so I can't say they're good/bad)

Slings may or may not come with swivels, so you need to check. To make your life easier, you can get the swivel/screw set:

For every $1 spent on a firearm, you should spend $2 training with it.

      Thanks!

I was looking at the swivel/screw set but wasn't sure It would actually work on the combo.

Before you change out the barrel nut, check the hoop that is just below the barrel nut. Mine had a drilled and tapped hole for the front swivel screw already there.

I called Mossberg and told them my Big 5 500 combo didn't come with the screw for the mag tube cap and they sent me a screw set for free. Had it in a couple days.

hmm my cap's already seem to have a hole on top...

That's cool Mossberg did that, I already ordered the swivel kit though.

Extra parts never hurt! I learned the hard way and ended up needing to make 3 separate purchases to finally complete what I wanted.

You don't need to change the barrel nut on a M500. The factory barrel nut is already drilled and tapped for a sling stud. All you need is a stud and the quick release style sling mount in in 3rd link that envelope posted. It's the fine threaded one. The coarse threaded one is to put in a synthetic or wood stock.
