I had some unexpected free time today (you can only be written out of the will so many times before it starts getting old) so I decided to head up to Northbrook Sports Club in Hainesville IL http://www.northbrooksportsclub.org/
I've said this before and I'll say it again, "Northbrook is one of the premier clubs in the USA". Great targets, great terrain, nice club house, hundreds of acres to use, and home of the 2015 U.S. Open Sporting Clays Championship (June 22-28) !!!
They were setting up the Red Course for tomorrow's tournament, so I met up with an old friend and we shot the Green Course. Let me clarify this right now. I didn't shoot the red course, I didn't look at the targets on the red course, and in fact I'm not even sure what color the red course is.
According the NSC the red course is their tournament course and the green course is set softer for us mere mortals. But here's the kicker, NSC's idea of "softer" is about 95% of what everybody else considers "tournament"
They were great targets.
When I spoke to Brett earlier in the week we talked about tournament distractions. Brett said planning next year's US Open was his distraction, I said mine was my camera, and I told him I was going to leave it at home.
Sorry I lied, here are some pictures I already shot
Smoque BBQ on Pulaski, and Barnaby's Pizza in Northbrook.
