Browning 2000 12 ga. Not Ejecting Shells

I have tried doing a little searching online and have found some info on possible reasons for this. But nothing with my exact problem.

The gun did not come with a forend cap, so I found one here and picked it up. I noticed it does have a hole in the end, as pictured, and I read in one place during my searches that this needs to be sealed. Can anyone confirm that?

If thats how the forend cap should be any other thoughts??

Are you using 2-3/4" shells in a 3" chambered barrel?

Are you using low recoil or undercharged ammo?

Yep, a sling swivel screw plugs the hole. Left open the gas needed to cycle the action is blowing right out that hole.
