Benelli M2 welded carriers (for lefties)

I ordered an extended carrier for my Benelli M2 (left handed model) from Taran Tactical, but I didn't realize it was a hand specific piece until I installed it and function checked it with dummy rounds:

can anyone make some recommendations where I can get a modified carrier like the one in the photo but for a lefty?

Luckily Taran Tactical was nice and agreed to refund the carrier due to my affliction (being lefty). =p

So the shiny one is modified?

They look like the same fit. I see a rectangular cutout in the shiny one just right of the pivots. What does that do?

It is not the same fit, you're looking at the wrong end.

Look at the front, there's a small side plate and their positions are reversed on the right hand model.

it looked and functioned great! until i loaded dummy rounds into it and it wouldn't eject the rounds correctly.

that lip on the left or right side i think helps to guide the shell and if its on the wrong side.. it blocks loading slightly when the bolt is forward and extraction of the shell.

the extended carrier saves on the benelli bite when trying to load shells quickly, at least when I'm strong arm loading I have to be more aware of the angle my thumb is pressing and exiting.

Worst case, have someone cut the piece off and weld it to the other side.

Apologies for the basic question, but have you tried contacting Taran to see if they'll swap for the right part?

If Taran can't fix it, try Jeff Cockrum at C-Rums.com. Before Taran Tactical most of had Jeff do our carriers. Send the whole trigger group and the trigger job along with the welded carrier.

^^^+1 Re: Jeff Corkrum. He is out of state but well worth it. His prices are more reasonable than TT's.

                      Ok, I see.

Does Benelli offer that or is that always a custom mod? As a last resort I can perform that mod.

                        Thanks TempleKnight and Kdruff.

I'll give him a call today. TTI doesn't currently have the equipment to handle lefty products at this time.

I had Jeff from C-Rums do mines last year. I sent it in, got quoted two weeks but his turn around was really 3 days. He does a bead blasted finish on the carrier however. I polished it myself after I got it back.

I would like to get a feel for a benelli with his trigger job.. I thought the stock trigger on my M2 is pretty darn good already.
