    It's an AOW.
    Under Federal and CA laws, it requires BATFE approval in order to legally own one.

          AOW = Any Other Weapon
          It is a type of Title 2 firearm which is regulated under the National Firearms Act of 1934.

          The National Firearms Act of 1934 created two categories of firearms.
          Title 1 firearms (Handgun, Rifle, Shotgun, Other) and Title 2 firearms (AOW, DD, MG, NS, SBR, SBS).
          BATFE approval is required in order to legally own a Title 2 firearm.

            In order to legally obtain a Hera Arms HASTA... (simplified version)
            1. You will need to find a CA FFL dealer that is also a SOT.
            2. You then purchase the Title 2 firearm and submit a Form 4 to BATFE.
            *If you are submitting the Form 4 as an individual, then the Form 4 requires the CLEO of your city/county to sign off on it.
            *If you are submitting the Form 4 as a trust or corporation, then the Form 4 does not require your CLEO to sign off on it.
            3. Wait for BATFE to process the Form 4. (current average wait time is 9 months)
            4. Once approved and you have received your tax stamp, you then go back to the CA FFL dealer, who will complete the transfer of the Title 2 firearm.
