    Browning Magnum

This is an inherited weapon. I've been to browning's "date your gun" page and proofhouse.com. I am trying to find the year this shotgun was made. The serial # as I see it just in front of the loading port is 6V then the next line 83094. A5 is not stamped anywhere although I'm sure that's what it is. It simply says Browning on the left side of the receiver and magnum just above that. On the left of the barrel it's marked made in Belgium and Browning arms company St Louis MO & Montreal PQ. On the right it's marked special steel-12 gauge- Shells 3". The receiver and trigger guard are engraved. My best guess is the "V" is the magnum indicator and the 83094 is the actual serial #. My real ? Is the "6" as in 6V. 1956?? I see the "V" marking in 1958 but then I saw the markings 8V XXXXX. I'm not looking to sell it I just want information.

Sometimes it is entirely appropriate to kill a fly with a sledge hammer.

      You have a A-5 3" mag made in 1966.
