    Left O/U Question

    Hey folks --

I am a lefty looking to get more in the clay fun. I live in SF and the only viable range around is pretty much shotgun only, so I figured I need to get with the times.

I understand the need for the fit of a shotgun, and will do that before buying, however, I believe that some can be eliminated because they do not make left hand models.

Usage: predominantly clays, the rare hunting outing

    What I have been eyeing:

-Beretta Silver Pigeon I Sport (but apparently Beretta doesn't make lefty o/u, so that will probably be out)

-Citori White Lightning: I prefer the price here, but it only goes up to 28", I think I am looking for 30". Also, I think this auto safeties. I don't know if they make this lefty

-Citori 725 Field: price is okay, but auto safety and no lefty model (from what I can see)

-Citori 725 Sporting: price is probably around 1k what I would like to pay, but it comes in lefty and 30"

Does anyone know if I can turn off the auto safety and whether or not browning offers left handed versions of all their models?

Is there a big difference between 28" and 30" bbls?

My preference would be the citori 725 field in 30" if it's available in left and I can turn off the auto safety. What are the main differences between the 725 field and sport? Where is that 1k price difference coming from?

    Thanks!!

There are Beretta Silver Pigeon O/U with left hand wood stocks, here's one: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=412134262

    Another one here: https://www.joeletchenguns.com/berettan.htm

Its a bit of a drive for you but there's a range in Morgan Hill, Coyote Valley Sporting Clay. They have a well stocked Pro Shop and you can also rent new guns out for "demo" testing. You can rent shotguns and try them out on their sporting clay, skeet or trap field.

    Their web site: http://www.coyoteclays.com/

Try to go in the morning and hit them when they open at 8am if you go during weekends, they get pretty busy later in the day.

Good to know! The more you know the more decisions that must inevitably be made. Haha, but if the beretta fits better then there's no doubt its better bang for the buck from my end

Brownings are different so 'turn off' is not an issue and Brownings offers many o/u's for the lefty.

28 or 30......is a dealers choice as to what you like
